An incredible story of one of our members

Day Trading Success  |
Oct 29, 2019

Two weeks ago, I received an email that made me very emotional.

I’ve inserted the trader’s email below for you to read, and then, please read my comments which follow to see why this was so important to me:

“Hi Andrew, I originally wrote you in November 2018. Just thought I would write you again to say thanks for creating an excellent resource. Due to my trouble typing, and difficulty using dictation software in the chat, I usually don’t post. But I am there every morning, looking at the scanner. Your book and website have helped me to become a consistently successful trader. With your help I have acquired the knowledge, skills, software, hardware, and mental ability that has brought this success. I took my time, slowly increasing share size and strategies, and now trade with confidence. I never could have imagined making 1k dollars in a morning, but it now happens with regularity. If you’re ever traveling and have a layover in Boise, ID, [Idaho] let me know because it would be my pleasure to buy you lunch.

Thanks again,

P.S. Just for fun I thought I would send you a screenshot of a chart from this week. I entered into the trade and seconds later you announced your position as well. I must admit, it helped boost my confidence. ?

Please keep on reading, because there is more to this trader’s story. It truly is an amazing success story! Last year, this person joined our community as a lifetime member, a few months after he had launched himself into the world of trading. About 13 years ago though, he was in a terrible motor vehicle accident that left him with a cervical level spinal cord injury as well as a traumatic brain injury. Here’s his email from last November:

“Hello Andrew, my name is Joshua and I live in Idaho. I found your website after reading “how to do a trade for a living.” I’m sure you’re busy, so I’ll keep this short. I have been a member of the chat room for a couple weeks now. I appreciate the resource and became a lifetime member today. Short history about me, I was in a bad motor vehicle crash about 12 years ago that left me with a cervical level spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury. From my initial injury, I have made quite a bit of progress in recovery, but I still have major physical limitations. For some time I have attempted to return to work/start my own business, but it just never materialized for me. Since I found trading, it has supplied me with a feeling of purpose that had been lost from not working.

I began trading about six months ago, before finding your books/website. I now understand that I don’t have the best setup. I’m currently running two iMacs that are paired together, and my trading platform is Charles Schwab’s StreetSmart Edge. I’m looking to transition to a PC that is set up solely for trading and start using the DAS program. I have gathered some information about buying/building a PC off of the website. I thought I would ask you about suggestions/resources before I go any further. Could you point me in the right direction please?
Thank you for your help, Joshua

P.S. I am also looking for devices to assist me with executing my trades. I don’t have the best hand function, so I’m not able to enter orders on a keyboard very efficiently. Have you used the Stream Deck device yet? A simple device that only requires one stroke of a key is very appealing.”

I am so glad that day trading from home has allowed my friend to be able to make a consistently sufficient income which permits him to support himself and his family. I sincerely desire this for all of you as well.

Please don’t get me wrong though, I don’t want to promote trading as an easy way to get rich and become “free”. No, it is a difficult learning process and requires considerable hard work and patience. As the sun knows, even the sky is not the limit, your mind is. Trader J proved to us that even after a severe accident it is possible to make it.
